Almost over

Warning photo heavy post.

Well we're in the last few hours of 2013, looking back in some ways it's been the year from hell but with a few blessings. I've learned quite a lot about people I trusted and loved, sometimes I've felt so many knives in my back it's been darned uncomfortable, but to cancel those things out I've had amazing support from people I didn't think even cared. I share day to day things in my life on here but not the very personal things but those personal things have been tested this year.

I have 2 older sisters and one younger the latter gradually alienated my Mother from the rest of her family by feeding awful lies to her. My Mum passed away in June of this year after an illness of several months that we knew nothing about. Due to the sister from hell none of us knew about it and if she had her way none of us would have been at the funeral. Thankfully her own son managed to get my number from my son and let me know what was happening. We were away at the time and by the time I knew there was no way I could get to the hospital before she passed away. My uncle went but was about 4 minutes to late. I contacted the ward staff explaining who I was, they were surprised because they'd been informed there was no other relatives than my sister. We weren't allowed to see Mum at the funeral home due to same sister being the client and putting a condition on the account that no one else was permitted to see her, the funeral directors were under the impression Mum had no other relatives. They were very shocked when my uncle turned up asking to see Mum, sadly they couldn't let him. We also found out same sister had emptied ALL Mums house contents and belongings into skips without any other family member knowing. No one has anything other than memories to remember her by. The house was rented, Mum was not flush with money so no one would expect to inherit financially. The word evil springs to mind.

When I'd found out Mum was in hospital I'd rung my uncle and we let others know between us. The funeral directors were surprised when almost 20 relatives incuding 2 other daughters turned up.  Nice sister eh, I once told her if she didn't change her ways and attitude she would become a bitter, twisted, lonely old woman and sadly she has.

The good that came out of sadness and unforgivable behaviour was I met up with one of my older sisters again and it's a relationship that will last. That in itself brought both sorrow and joy, our eldest sister is very ill with several health problems the worse being Lupus she has the severe kind which is causing her organs to shut down. The other sister who came to the funeral shared with me that she had breast cancer, had gone through the treatment and would learn in October if they had managed to get it all and she'd be clear. It was 2 months later, August, when I was diagnosed with the same type of cancer. I'm so pleased to say when my sister saw her oncologist in October they pronounced her free from cancer. She still has to stay under their care with regular mammograms and must report any changes straight away but the outcome was a huge relief.
That's the unpleasant part of this year over and done with.

Here's updated photos of some of our grandchildren

Two of my beautiful granddaughters, Molly left & Ellice Christmas morning, they grow up to fast nowadays. Both girls are way above me in height now lol
Christmas morning at the Russ house, from left to right, James,GS, Lesley, D, Andrew SIL and Sam GS all showing off their new onesies and dressing gowns. :)

Here's the dressed Lesley in serious mode driving me for treatment, just after this photo she almost jumped out of her skin when a tram appeared at the side of her coming up out of the under pass LOL.
Mum and son
My turn for an after lunch snuggle

Missing from the photos are Mark our eldest grandson and our youngest son and family who we didn't get to photograph.

We changed colour this year, I usually have my gold and red decorations but  we needed a new tree so I opted for a white one and my daughter dressed it in deep purple tinsel and lilac and silver baubles for me. The glow at the bottom is silver tinsel entwined with a set of battery powered lights from Ikea.
My sideboard had it's usual visitors arrayed upon it.

My little munchkins have all been clipped down, I can't brush them as often as I was doing so it was necessary to clip them off. Nunu at the top of the photo Poppy at the bottom both are waiting for Livvy to finish eating but it's a futile wait Livvy bless her leaves nothing LOL
Little Megan who's wearing her Diva jumper because she was cold and she has turned into a little Diva!
Our lovely Livvy who along with Megan is showing signs of dementia
Dooglebug who has suffered awful stress problems manifesting in skin problems since just after I was diagnosed, he's on steroids again at the moment.

Momma Mia and Nemo who isn't impressed with his new haircut! Sitting with their most favourite person in the world their Dad. Either that or it's because he's near the radiator LOL
And finally little Georgi girl the most mischievous little tomboy I've ever met! Dont let that cute little face fool you :) That's Dooglebug she's snuggling up to her partner in crime and Nunu the other side.
I much prefer them long coated but it' not fair on them if I can't brush them, they need brushing daily to keep their coats from tangling and matting.

I tried some crochet the other day, my arm and hand of the same side as the cancer are both still swollen so it was a slow process in short bursts. I found a great tutorial for a Ripple blanket very kindly given by Lucy on her blog. Her tutorials are so easy to follow especially for me and this is my progress so far. I'm enjoying it in fits and starts LOL.

I would like to wish you all a very happy, peaceful and healthy New Year. Take care if your out and about tonight.

hugs

Catch up time

Hello lovely ladies out there, thank you for dropping by. I'm sorry I've not kept up to date it's been a pretty awful few weeks with infections, my skin cracking and infected, feeling totally exhausted and sick. Mr B bless his big heart has been absolutely amazing in all that he's done. We haven't gone without a meal, he's kept up with the cleaning and washing, the only thing he doesn't like doing is bed making, he'll change the covers for me but not make it lol. He's shattered now and ready for his climbing break with his friends where all he needs to do is keep himself safe.
I've finished all radiotherapy now but as I mentioned above there's still problems I'm now coating myself in Flamazine antibiotic cream 4 times pr day and I'm so pleased to say it's helping. I've still got to have the fluid drained off again. We'll get there eventually I think I've tried to rush things a little but have had my telling off at the hospital and Mr B so have promised to obey order from now on. My next appointment is with the oncologist in January.

Now onto something happier, I am now the proud owner of a vintage Singer 201K complete with her table. Her name is Betsy and she works! The only problem I am having with her is the underneath thread is ruffling up pretty bad. Mr B has tried to strip down the bobbin for me to clean it but there is one screw who has decided it want's to remain where it is so until he can spare the time I can't use her. She is cleaning up extremely well, I took the advise of  some expert stripper downers of vintage machines that they had shared on their blogs. When I tried her out she was so quiet when running which really surprised me. He'll have more time to have a look at her after Christmas.
I'm really looking forward to sewing on her flat bed it'll be easier when quilting. This was the photo that I fell in love with on Ebay, the contents of the draw included the original booklet plus a few vintage pin tins, Table and machine all for £44.

We went out of Saturday evening for the first time in months, it was my eldest son's wife's 50th birthday party. I couldn't say I was definately going until the day but had plenty of rest during the day so we set off just after 6pm with my daughter, her 3 sons, hubby wasn't well. My youngest son, wife and their youngest followed later. We arrived at the venue to very low lighting, because of the weather there was a major power cut throughout the valley. It didn't spoil anything though they managed to keep the food hot on the gas cookers. it was a really pleasant evening I managed a couple of hours before hitting the brick wall of tiredness but I did so enjoy the change and the evening. Sunday was a complete rest day but it was worth it.

We don't have the worry of cooking Christmas lunch this year we'll be going to my daughters again, brilliant cook, delicious food and good company  and it doesn't matter if I fall asleep :o). I'll be so pleased when I can get back to sewing again, I have so much to catch up on. Plus I miss it major time.

I hope you all have a great Christmas with your families and friends.

Take care

Peg xx

Things to be grateful for
1) still being here with my family who are as valuable as gold to me

2) a husband who's a best friend, a supporter, who keeps me grounded but in a good way

3) I'm thankful to those who have gone before and been the pioneers in searching for cures for the many diseases that attack we humans

4) for those who gave their lives so we could be free and speak our minds and for those who are still giving their lives for us to remain free

5) For those who will give up their time to make sure those who are down on their luck at least have a warm meal.

My first week completed!

Just sharing a photo of my eldest son doing what he loved best a few weeks before his awful accident which left him with disabilities. We still have him with us thank the Good Lord, he has a wonderful wife and two beautiful girls who fought so hard along with the medical staff to help his recovery.

I hope you're all well and life is treating you well.
I'm pleased to say my first week of radiotherapy is now complete, just 2 more weeks to go. Looking at all the appointments when they first gave me the list was a bit daunting but I'm pleased to say it feels like its gone so quickly. I think it helps having the weekends treatment free, one lovely lady we sat talking to had to rely on hospital transport, she lives over an hr away from Sheffield in the opposite direction to us. Bless her heart she's also w/chair bound waited for the ambulance who were 2 hrs late picking her up. The machine I'd been on the day before had broken down so she had to wait another 2 hrs for treatment. She left the area about 90mins before we did when we got to the entrance she was still waiting for them to pick her up!
She looked so tired, thankfully they turned up as we were talking to her.

One of my dislikes may seem trivial to some but whilst having treatment I can't wear deodorant on that side and am paranoid about not smelling nice. I have to clean the area with mild perfume free soap however I was told after drying I can use a very small amount of corn flour mixed with bicarbonate of soda and this will help and it does lol.
They were a bit concerned today because Dolly Parton as I've named her was swollen, hot and an angry red looking, I thought it was due to the treatment. They decided to go ahead today because I'm not having any treatment for two days plus I have an appointment with the oncologist on Monday before my treatment. If it doesn't settle down they may have to suspend treatment again, I'm keeping everything crossed they don't or it will mean my appointments will run into Christmas.

Going there is tiring, it takes a very big chunk out of my day, I've not had the chance to do any sewing but meeting the other patients keeps me aware of the fact I could be one heck of a lot worse off.

I upgraded my iPhone recently to the iPhone 5, not sure what's wrong with it but the camera isn't working! We called into the Apple store at Meadowhall on Wednesday but have got to take it back next week for the tech boys to sort it out. Apparently its a common fault with the iPhone 5, I don't know if its the same with the 5s or 5c, I didn't have to pay for the upgrade due to being on contract but I know they're not cheap to buy. If I had bought it I'd be pretty miffed it has developed a problem so soon.

Due to having to rest I've been getting my sewing fix from the blogs I love to visit without feeling guilty being on the commi. Oh my goodness there has been some wonderful work produced out there, beautiful quilts, samplers and other goodies. It's also given next the chance to watch tutorials on various needle crafts. Thank you ladies for the pleasure I've had looking at your work.

I also visited some thrifting and gardening blogs which has provided a lot of new recipes especially when using squash. I really enjoy them roasted, thanks to the farm near our bolt hole we are enjoying the fruits of their labour along with delicious pumpkins and unusual squash I've never seen before. We've got purée'd and roasted ready for using stored in the freezer, also our local Lydl store have been selling different ones.

I came home today to roast pork with all the trimmings for dinner, all the dirty clothes washed and dried. The dusting done and floors washed, no I didn't have a visit from the housework fairy it was all done by Mr B bless him. I thought he may enjoy an evening with his climbing friends but he says he's to tired ;0).

I hope you all have a great weekend

Hugs

Beautiful Autumn and a tiring day

Although I love to see the vast variety of colours through the summer, my favourite being the pansies, I absolutely love autumn. The uncountable variations of gold, the warmth of the deeper earthy colours, there's nothing like it.
The above isn't my photo I found it on google search, as I did this one

This is so warm and inviting, like a dish of warm, soft caramel ready to dive into.

We have rain and cooler weather forecast for our region, thankfully we'll avoid the snow I think that's forecast for Scotland. As we'll be travelling the 2hr round trip to the hospital every week day for the next 3 weeks I'm hoping the snow keeps at bay here. I love it if I can hibernate inside:) I have a 4 x 4 that can handle the snow but my daughter who'll be driving isn't keen on ice or snow.

It's been a very tiring day, my treatment was cancelled for 2 weeks due to me having a severe infection. I've had it for over a month with two courses of strong antibiotics doing very little. Last Thursday saw us back at the hospital again, this time they did an ultrasound that revealed a lot of fluid that wasn't helping so that was drained off. Slowly over the past few days it's eased so it was fingers crossed that they wouldn't delay me starting my treatment again.

We got to the hospital about 12.45pm, my appointment was for 1.10pm but I like to be there in plenty of time. Two hours later I finally got to see the consultant who was happy for them to start my treatment. We had a meeting with a radiographer who explained again what would be happening over the next 3wks, he gave me a new set of appointments then cheered me up making me aware of the side effects I could expect. Also what I could and could not do and the importance of resting and pacing myself especially with the travelling putting 2hrs on the day.
I went to sit in the area to wait for my treatment, during the next 20 mins 3 inpatients joined me plus a few out patients. Another hour went by, I had no problem with the inpatients going first, but got a little frustrated when the outpatient numbers started dwindling and I'm still sat there.
I received several apologies throughout the afternoon but eventually went in for my first treatment. It wasn't as scary as I imagined or to long, I'd already had the tattoo marks put on when I went on the 4th November so just over 6 hrs after leaving home we were back. I was and still am shattered, I came to bed before 11pm which is a first for me.
Tomorrow should be better and not take as long thank goodness. Now I'm putting my ipad down, turning out the light and seeing if I can get some sleep I'm up early tomorrow because my appt tomorrow is at 11.10am.

I hope you enjoy your day:0)

Hugs

Close down time

Hello lovely people, well it's that time of year again, we've said goodbye to our bolt hole for the next 3.1/2 months. This picture is from the wonderful, warm, heady days of summer, yesterday was a beautiful sunny autumnal day but rather chilly.
My daughter and I drove over early morning to Mablethorpe, the lovely small seaside town in Lincolnshire where our bolt hole is situated. Although like most on the site ours is habitable during winter because of central heating and double glazing, the site closes from mid November until mid March. Everything valuable has to be removed, the duvets, pillows, sofa covers, curtains etc are brought home for cleaning so they're nice and fresh for next year. Due to my recovering from surgery I got to be the forewoman with my daughter bless her doing 98% of the work.

It's always a sad day when we leave for the winter, we enjoy it so much being there and apart from one couple, who sadly don't mix with anyone, everyone is really lovely, friendly and chatty. Each morning rain or shine John, one of the older neighbours walks past to the lake for his day of fishing, he always stops for a couple of minutes to chat. Lunchtime sees his wife taking his lunch and a flask, last season a sorry excuse for a human being stole all his fishing tackle. He was heartbroken some of it was over 50yrs old, the culprit was not found but there had been some chaps on the site a few evenings before giving out leaflets to an event. Nothing like this had happened before, everyone knew where he kept his gear, it's been in the same place for almost 20yrs with no problems.
It hit John hard, nothing like this had happened before, all the fellow fishermen grouped together to kit him out with new gear so he could carry on doing what he loves best.

I have a lot more visits to the hospital ahead of me so we wouldn't have been able to go. I was supposed to start 3 wks of daily treatment today but because of a very painful infection they're not happy for me to start treatment until it's cleared up. I've had 2 courses of strong antibiotics but nothing seems to be moving it. I'm back at my local hospital tomorrow to see the specialist who performed the operation, I'm hoping something can be done to ease it. I'm going on Monday 18th November to see the oncologist for him to decide if everything's settled enough for me to start treatment that day. If I do my last treatment visit will be on my birthday.

On the good news front one of my grandsons rang today to say he'd past an exam he'd taken for work which will mean further qualifications, promotion and a very substantial raise in salary. Another grandson, his younger brother has a place at a training college and is really enjoying it. Our eldest grandson and his partner have had the go ahead from the hospital to start trying for a baby after his partners health is now good.
Of our other two grandsons, the elder has also got good results from uni and his younger brother is settling well at senior school.

Of our 3 granddaughters the eldest has had great results at uni, the middle one is back home after working abroad and the youngest is enjoying being at college.
Life sometimes throws very painful bricks at you but there is also an awful lot to feel grateful for.

On the crafting front not a lot has been happening with not being to well but I hope to get back to it soon fingers crossed.

Take care and enjoy the blessings that come your way.

Hugs
Peg xx

Wow how the temperature has dropped

I'm not usually one who grumbles about the cold I'm usually feeling the warmth if you know what I mean! Goodness if its this cold now what's January going to be like?

It's been a busy month so far with a lot of hospital appointments taking up our time and November won't be any less busy it will be every week day with weekends off. Mr B isn't fairing much better either bless him, he's got a chest infection which has floored him.

Over the past few days to take my mind off things I've been working on a quilt for the bed in my sewing room. I posted a photo recently of these 10" sq's I'd been cutting further down is how it stands now.

The blocks are made up of 4 squares and n occasional pinwheel block. I've got 3 rows pieced together and hope to have the quilt top completed in the next few days. Each block is 8.5" sq and the quilt is 10 x 12 blocks. I don't think I'll be adding a border possibly just binding it but we'll see. I don't want it to be to fussy. I love autumnal colours and this gives me the chance to utilise them, I am so looking forward to this being finished. 4 rows done only 8 more to go 😊.

I've also got my next quilt in mind which is a pattern by Eleanor Burns called Piece of cake, I've got Moda's 30's playtime layer cake in mind for this one.

Before I go I've entered a great giveaway on a lovely blog here Cheryls
Please do go across and check her blog out you won't be disappointed👍

I'm so excited about next week I'm expecting a great delivery, its.....nah think I'll share next time :)

Take care and have a great weekend

The sun has returned!

Hello lovely ladies, thank you for popping in, it's so nice to see the sunshine again, today is so beautiful outside and warm. I've put the two Eiderdowns that live in my summer house over to the garden swing so they can share in the sunshine and be refreshed.
I wanted to show you the beautiful flowers my eldest grandson Mark and partner Sarah sent me with a get well card that had beautiful verses in. He's a very quiet, keep your emotions to yourself person which made it all the more special.
Aren't they just darling, I was totally blown away by the blue ones, I'm not good at taking photos so can't share the intricate petal details these have.
I've been really tired today and in quite a lot of pain the nurse told me I could remove the delightfully classy surgical stockings, they were doing more harm than good. Such a relief to get them off but they are necessary to stop DVT after surgery. I take aspirin daily so that will help and as long as I take regular walks around the house it should be ok.

Mr B has been very productive over the past 2 weeks stocking the freezer with meals, pies, chillies, currys, baking etc. It will mean when he goes back to work tomorrow it will just mean getting his evening meal from the freezer to thaw. He's been absolutely brilliant, I told him he'll go back to work for a rest! lol.
I've been catching up on blogs and watching youtube quilting videos, I've discovered new blogs, well new to me, I saw a tutorial on one for making a 16 block of squares, cut it diagonally, put it back together and you have great triangle blocks, going to try that one as soon as I can.
I managed to crochet a few more blocks last night and managed a necessary rest, it's surprising what you can do when politicians are on the box lol.
I love baskets and a few years ago I found this lovely picnic basket on our local flea market, it's lined so without replacing the inner fabric it couldn't be washed so I gave it a maximum spray of good quality flea spray, just in case. It lives in the sun room with it's lid firmly closed because if Nemo saw what's inside he would have a field day!

The last time I left a basket open he very kindly measured the amount of wool I had by wrapping several balls around furniture, the stair posts etc.

Now this little man is our grand-dog Teddy Edward he was adopted from our rescue by my eldest son and family after coming in as a stray at approximately 12-14wks old. At a show he recently won the category of Best Rescue Dog and came first in the Dog the judges would most like to take home. He's the most delightful little man who loves everyone and enjoys meeting people big and small. He loves his family there's nothing negative you could say about the Tedster and best of all he loves cuddles.

I totally love my Accuquilt Go cutter and had some brought downstairs so I could do some cutting recently these are a few of the dies I have collected. They're not cheap but are a life saver for me because I'm not having to hurt my hands using my rotary cutter. It easily slices through fabric.

The one thing I would love them to put out is a 10" finished square die it would be invaluable, it took me quite some time to hand cut my way to getting these sorted. I just need to decide how I'm going to make the blocks up.
This month has been significant in more ways than one, the most momentous was it was the month our youngest grandson Jacob, started senior school. He's our youngest sons youngest son.
He's 12 in December and growing so fast, here is the photo his Dad sent me the morning of his first day.
Doesn't it just make you want to cry, he looks so grown up it doesn't seem long since we were waiting for his birth. He looks so much like his Daddy and Mr B when he was young except Mr B had curly hair.

This gorgeous young lady is our youngest granddaughter Molly on her prom night. She is such a lovely girl in looks and character, she's 17 in December the day after Jacob and is attending college in Sheffield for baking. She makes the most amazing cakes. Her exam results were amazing and reflected the hard work she put into them. Molly is our eldest sons youngest daughter.
I think that's it for today I'm off to study the insides of my eyelids for while ;O)

Take care and I wish you all a great week ahead in whatever it has in store for you,

hugs
Peg xx

Gosh what a change in the weather and a catch up

I went into hospital on Friday wearing a sleeveless cotton top and cotton summer skirt, the sun was shining it was warm and all's well with the world. When I went on to the ward after my op the sound of torrential rain met my ears. This part of the hospital backs onto vast, beautiful open countryside plus the inevitable golf course but visibility was down to a few yards. The rain didn't stop until Saturday morning and then it was dark and overcast. What's happened to the wonderful summer days we've enjoyed, I suppose it had to end sometime.
I was more than happy to be home hospital isn't my favourite place.

A while ago whilst at our bolt hole I started a new quilt, I'd cut and sewn the blocks a few months before.

When I laid them out together I decided I'd cut them again and sew into different patterns so this is what I had after the cut and sew.

Rather than sash the blocks I decided to sew them together and introduce borders.
I managed to get a pretty decent photo in the sun room, I've added borders and there's just one more border to add before sandwiching and quilting. I don't know if it shows up but the first border around the blocks is a beautiful cream with tiny deep pink dots. The fabric is so soft, I'll be working on this again when I've got the go ahead from the hospital.

I've not been slacking on the crochet front, I've been enjoying youtube tutorials, blog tutorials on both crochet and quilting, here are a few of the items I've been working on.
My large Granny sq blanket is coming along nicely I've just started the soft sage green row. The colours are more vibrant than my pictures show.

A cushion front made up of granny sq's, needs blocking.

A few blocks for another pink and white blanket

A variety of blocks recently made including Maybelle flower, hexies and 2 hearts, tutorials hereAnnette's blog

Also in thie middle is the start of another cushion front.
Finally 2 of my knitted dish clothes, I loved working with this cotton its so soft. I managed to get some balls in different colours but they're at the van so I can't use them until I'm able to go back.

Purchase wise a set of 15 x 10" sq's in gorgeous ditsy prints and a 2" strip jelly roll from a lovely seller on ebay.

I've always wanted to have a go and use flying geese in a quilt so bought this from Creative Grids, fast service every time.

Not being able to do much over the weekend I've thoroughly enjoyed myself catching up with my blog list. My goodness its been a pleasure beautiful items being created, I haven't fully caught up yet on them all.
I get side tracked, I read a catch up, go to post a comment then pop over to the blogs of a couple or so of fellow comment leavers. There are some fabulously talented people out there in blog land.

Take care and thank you for visiting

Just a few things...warning photo heavy post

I haven't been idly sitting around not bothering with posting there have been some changes in my life that has knocked me for six as we British say.

However I have managed over the past few weeks to be creative with my quilting and crochet efforts. Due to ill health although I'm still a director of our rescue I will not be responsible for any day to day running of the rescue. One of the other directors and 4 staff members are now running it and I know it is in very capable hands. These ladies are dedicated to working to make our rescue what it should be, now we know for certain that ALL funds coming into the rescue are used for the dogs care, vet bills are being caught up with. They're working hard to raise funds, organise having stalls at fund raising events and auctions. I trust them all completely and know all dogs coming into the rescue's care will be well looked after whilst waiting for his/her new home.
My contribution will be making items for sale and auction whenever I can, I recently made the following which has now been posted off to be auctioned or sold. All proceeds will go to the rescue.

My Lush Greenery quilt, named because of the line of fabric used, I pieced to my own design and quilted it with Stitch in the ditch stitching. It is the first time I've done this and enjoyed it so much. It's backed with a lime green cotton and the batting is Homespun anti allergy.

The quilt started with a jelly roll called Lush Greenery, strips sewn together with a white 2.5" strip in the middle.

Add a plain green border, a rosebud border and delightful dark pink spot on cream binding, wash and air dry on a beautiful sunny day.
I also made 2 throw cushions to match backed with the same fabric as the quilt binding.

These are the two crochet blankets I crocheted to help raise funds for the rescue.
My first crochet blanket I called this one Pastel with a hint of Bold crocheted from various colours of wool.
My second one which I called Fizz bomb, it is crocheted from the same variegated wool throughout and goes from white through to the deepest strawberry fizz.

On the subject of crochet I have also learnt how to do the Maybelle crochet flower square. You'll find the pattern on Annette's delightful blog here her instructions are very easy to follow, she has given the pattern for the flower and the instructions to make it into a square plus her blog is a pleasure to visit.
Also on the crochet front I have been making chunky baskets, I found the patterns on Liz's blog she makes the most lovely items. This image is of LIZ'S gorgeous large chunky basket. If you look on the sidebar on the right of the page you will see the links to the pattern. Very easy to follow instructions, I am hoping to do one in similar colours because I think it's so striking. Mine are the ones which follow, I do have 2 others that I've made but they're at our bolt hole I'll show those later.
Liz's basket
These are my baskets, this is the smallest one
The larger basket, as you can see they're not small, the balls of wool in mine are 2 x 100gm balls, a 200gram ball and 2  x 50gram balls. The hook you can see poking out is a size 8 hook with a twisted pink/pale blue handle purchased from ebay.
I really enjoyed crocheting them. Please pop on over to Liz's blog it's a delight to visit.

.Tomorrow I'll share my next quilt project, I have photos but not of the stage it's at now, plus I imagine you're fed up of photos by now :o).

Take good care of you, thank you for visiting,

hugs Peg xx
